About Us

I grew up on a small farm in Tempe, Arizona. We raised lots of animals -- my favorites being our dogs. Some of my fondest memories were playing with my dogs and their puppies.   

Randy and I moved to the Texas Hill Country in a northwest suburb of Austin in 1991 and started our family. We lived overseas in Tokyo for a couple of years, then returned to the Cedar Park area and have been here since.

The 5 Woods kids have always wanted a dog. The kids pleaded for years, but with some of the kids suffering from asthma and allergies we thought a dog would just not work out for our family. One evening I went into my daughter's room to find her crying quietly into her pillow -- she wanted a dog.  We decided to start researching the possibilities. One day we came across Labradoodles. Everything we read got us more and more excited that we may have found the perfect breed for our family's needs. But we knew we had to meet one just to be sure.

We were fortunate enough to locate an Australian Labradoodle that lived nearby.  We arranged a visit, and we fell in love! We rubbed her silky fur on our faces, took deep breaths, had her lick us and played for about an hour. No asthmatic reactions and no allergies!  We were all hooked. The kids were ecstatic.

We started the search for a multigenerational Labradoodle breeder puppy. We purchased Rutlands Funny Trix, a beautiful cream puppy from Rutland Manor in Australia. She is the daughter of Rutlands Funnie Bunnie and Shannon.
